First Novice and Casual Race Day Saturday 12th May 9:30am to 3pm

May 4, 2018

Novice Casual racing returns this Saturday 12 May at 9.30. The event is open to all, and we mean everyone, to compete in a day of fun racing with prizes awarded at the end.

If you’ve never raced before you can pop along and join in, or get your boat out ,possibly for the first time this year, and have a casual cruise. If you’ve just joined the club or just passed your Level 2, come along and see what it’s all about, and take out one of the club boats all day for half a days hire. It is free to enter if you have your own boat.

We know this is a particular popular event with families and there are several new boats hoping to join the throng. There is also the ever competitive pirates, but anyone of any age or ability is welcome.

We start signing in at 9.30, rig up, and a briefing at 10.30, with racing from 11.00 until 1ish. Then follows lunch from the fantastic Hacketts, and the racing continues until 3.30. Please feel free to come to just one session if school, football, gardening or shopping dictates!!

The long range forecast looks fantastic, so much so I reckon we could see a few months flying about.

This event normally happens on the first Saturday of the month, but Tony wasn't available. The dates for the rest of the year are as follows. Please note we have been moved from October to the last weekend in September by the International Canoe Event.

June 2nd

July 7th

See you on Saturday
