Windfoiling & Wingfoiling
Wingfoiling is the new kid on the sailing block that is attracting dinghy sailors, kitesurfers and windsurfers to a sport that is growing at a rapid rate worldwide.
The appeal is the uncomplicated entry into the foiling world on a board with buoyancy and a simple wing as the sail. The learning curve is steep; they say it takes 10 hours to master the initial techniques and Farmoor is an ideal place to begin and progress. Wingfoiling is new to the reservoir and we have yet to offer training or equipment hire. But things are moving fast so join the Club and the WhatsApp group and be part of the progression.
Having a Blast
When the wind is up dinghies may come in but for many windsurfers that is when the fun starts, to find out more just ask someone with a huge smile when they come off the water.
Keep an eye on the club weather station, your favourite windsurf weather app, or ask to join the windsurf WhatsApp group to keep in touch with everyone.
During each year members log their fastest times and the fastest gets the trophy. The current Farmoor speed record, a blistering 40.20 mph, was recorded in 2013
Many people just come along when the wind is up expecting others to be there, however most use the WhatsApp group to keep in touch.
