Activity Schedule

OSC runs a regular programme of races and sailing events throughout the season. Most of these events are run by volunteers or club members as a duty.

Any Day

Buddy Sailing

Members may sail in daylight hours, whenever the site is open, as long as there is another craft on the water. Occasionally members are not to sail when some of the larger events are taking place, members will be notified by email and on the website when sailing is restricted.

Sunday Throughout The Year

Dinghy Fleet Racing: Don't forget to sign in using the sheets in the hallway. If using a Club boat, you will need the sail number. Be on the water before the first start at 11:00. The normal format is 2 races back-to-back. Start timings are:  Asymmetric 11:00,   ILCAs 11:03, General Handicap 11:06. The General Handicap is for all boats with a PY number of 1050 or higher (all the Club boats are in this category). The Asymmetric fleet is boats below 1050 PY.

Races last about an hour from start to finish, depending on wind.

Monday May to October

Windsurfing coaching, the Farmoor Flyers, our regular Monday evening sessions are well attended, online booking needed.

Tuesday May to October

Pay & Play from 17:30

Coached dinghy sailing for experienced sailors and those looking for help and support.

Oxford Pirates

April to September, The Oxford Pirates, our youth sailing club, meet every Tuesday from 5.30 pm to 8.00 pm.

Informal Windsurf Racing from 18:00

Wednesday

Dinghy Fleet Racing

April to First week in September, start at 18:45

Informal Racing

2 pm on the second Wednesday in September until December when conditions are favourable. No safety boat cover.

Thursday May to October

Windsurf Racing from 18:00 to 20:00

Oxford Zoomers: Team 15 Windsurf Race Training

Mid-May to September from 18.00-20.00.

Saturday

Novice & Casual Dinghy Racing from 11:00 to 15:00

1st Saturday of month from May to September

The Club tries to run additional Saturday winter training, but this is dependent on volunteer instructors.
