OSC Dinghy Class Championship

OSC DINGHY CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS:
The Dinghy Class Championships at Oxford Sailing Club are a special racing event where sailors compete within their specific dinghy classes. This event allows sailors of similar boat types to race against each other, showcasing their skills and the performance of their class of dinghy.
Format of the racing;
There will be three races sailed, based on handicap or class. Each race should be about 45~60 minutes long depending on the wind conditions.
The racing is divided into fleets based on boat type and handicap, ensuring fair competition. Here are the main fleets:
- Fast Asymmetric Fleet: For asymmetric dinghies with a PY of 1005 or less (e.g., RS 700, K6) sailing a windward leeward course over four laps. First Start time: 11:00.
- Slow Asymmetric Fleet: For asymmetric dinghies with a PY of 1051 or above (E.G., Vareo, Rs200, Laser 2000 etc) sailing a windward/leeward course over three laps. First Start time 11:00
- ILCA Fleet: Includes ILCA 7, ILCA 6, and ILCA 4 rigs (formerly known as Lasers). Start time: 11:03
- General Handicap Fleet: For dinghies with a PY of 1006 or above (e.g., Contenders, RS600,RS Aero 7, Solos, Toppers). First Start time: 11:06.
