Pay & Play - Adult Dinghy Training 8

10th June, 17:30 - 20:00

Pay and Play is for adult sailing members looking to develop their sailing skills.

Coaching is provided by RYA instructors and focuses on building skill and confidence in boat handling, seamanship and racing basics in single and/or double handed boats.

  • Registration is at 5:30 - 5:35 pm (preferably in your sailing clothing)
  • The training is finished by 8:00 pm

You may use club boats for the session at no additional charge. The decision on which boat to sail will be made by the instructor taking account of your preference and the conditions on the day.

Getting the most from your session:

  • Please try to arrive in good time to register already changed into your sailing kit if possible.
  • In April and May we strongly advise a wetsuit and wet boots as the water is still cold, and a rainproof top to reduce windchill.  It'll mostly be colder than you think but an active session will warm you up!  Most importantly, you'll need a buoyancy aid - we have a few to lend until you get a suitable one, on which we can advise.

Pricing, Cancellations and Refunds:

Bookings made by the Sunday evening prior to the Tuesday session qualify for a lower rate.

Bookings cancelled by the Sunday evening will be eligible for refunds.  Bookings cancelled after the Sunday evening will not normally be refunded.

Please also note, in booking you:

a) Confirm that your medical and emergency contact information in your Profile are kept up to date.

b) Consent to (i.) your details being held by OSC (they will not be passed to other organisations). (ii.) any treatment or medication being administered where necessary and for transport to hospital and any necessary treatment being carried out. You will be notified as soon as possible of any such treatment. (iii.) the use of any photos taken by OSC for marketing & its website.

c) Confirm that (i.) the booked individual does not suffer from any medical condition which could affect their safety or others whilst taking part -we will assess each case on its merits as needed. (ii.) that if the booked individual is using their own boat/board, that it is is in good repair and has third party indemnity cover of at least £3,000,000.00 (if applicable).

We look forward to seeing you all on the water!
