Pay & Play - Adult Sail Training » Pay & Play - Adult Sail Training

16th April, 17:30 - 20:00

Pay and Play is a coached evening session for adult member sailors looking to develop their skills, start racing and have some fun! The sessions cater for a wide range of abilities. We take sailors who have just finished an RYA course and want to build up their confidence and experience, through to racers who are looking to keep improving their skills! As long as you have an RYA Level 2 certificate and are a Club member, you are welcome to come along and take part.

Sessions run every Tuesday evening from April to mid-September. Registration is at 5:30pm, and we aim to be off the water by 8pm. To get the most from your session, please try to arrive in good time already changed into your sailing kit if possible. You'll need a wetsuit as the water is cold, and a rainproof top helps reduce windchill when you fall in! It'll mostly be colder than you think but an active session will warm you up. Most important, you'll need a buoyancy aid - we have a few to lend until you get a suitable one, on which we can advise.

Sessions cost £10, including use of a club boat. We have Fusions, Zests and Lasers (or ILCAs as they are now called) available. Double-handed boats are now represented by the arrival of new Topper Argos which will gradually replace our RS Visions - it'll be a mixture for the early season.

  • Please note, in booking you:
  • a.) Consent to (i.) your details being held by OSC (they will not be passed to other organisations). (ii.) any treatment or medication being administered where necessary and for transport to hospital and any necessary treatment being carried out. • b.) Confirm that (i.) the booked individual does not suffer from any medical condition which could affect their safety or others whilst taking part -we will assess each case on its merits as needed. (ii.) that if the booked individual is using their own boat/board, that it is is in good repair and has third party indemnity cover of at least £2,000,000.00 (if applicable).

Payment for theses sessions must be via the GoCardless direct debit platform (follow the GoCardless link on the members Portal home page). This allows accurate automatic collection and confirmation of payments, based on the invoice created when you book. (No payment can be debited from your account without an invoice, which can result only from a session booking or membership dues.)

All sessions are members-only.

We look forward to seeing you all on the water!
