RYA SRC Course A and Exam A Cancelled

21st January 2023
1135473 1024xdne

This course is only open to OSC members and its affiliated organisations.

Course A Date: 21st January

Exam A Date : 28th January

You can not mix a Course A with Exam B as the instructors have to be different for each.

The Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC) equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio. This includes both fixed and hand held equipment using International channels. You do not need to hold a SRC to operate a VHF on the unregulated channels we use at OSC so this course is for those sailing on the coast.

This OSC's first offering of SRC training and certification. Training is all day on the 21st January with the exam to take place on the 28th January (in a series of one to two hours sessions). The club is only offering the exam who complete training with OSC.

Cost of the training course is £15.

The exam fee is £60 and payable directly to the RYA. You do not need to be an RYA member but you do need to create a MyRYA account (free of charge). exams (rya.org.uk)
