Novice and Casual Racing is back this coming Saturday. (This is the last of the season!). Here's Tony Bell, our intrepid Novice Fleet Captain:
Late September Novice/ Casual Racing
Just a quick reminder that the final Novice and Casual Racing of the season is happening this coming Saturday.
I can't imagine there's many people who haven't taken part yet, however if you are new to the club or now feel ready to take part, pop along on Saturday.
I would recommend arriving at just after 9.30, get your boat down to the beach, with a view of launching at 10.45. As there are only a limited quantity of club boats, and they are allocated on a first come basis, I would recommend not being late.
Our plan for the day is two 25 minute races starting from 11.00 on the water, preceded by a briefing at 10.15. Lunch at 12.30, followed by another briefing, and as many races as we can from 1.30. Please feel free to choose just one session, you certainly don't have to compete in every race. Just milling around in a huge fleet of boats is always fun
The clubhouse is available for refreshments and the changing rooms are open, and as David said masks aren't obligatory, but asks all members to be considerate around others especially in crowded settings and wear a mask where you can.
Presently the forecast from a distance away is looking typically N/C; really dire in the morning, but picking up at lunchtime, but as we all know it does change on a day to day basis.
The race team and myself are very much looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday. Prizes will be given for the day and the series!
