Novice & Casual Racing This Saturday 24th September - The Final Countdown!
Published 00:00 on 19 Sep 2022
As you probably all know by now, the event is open for all members - new members including Pay & Players and Pirates and more experienced sailors are very welcome. As the year has progressed many more of you have taken part, and hopefully found what a fun day it is.
The race support team, including safety boat crews) will be about from 9.30, with the first race due to start at 11.00. I'd recommend not being late, as boats are allocated on a first come basis; grab a boat, pop a sail on it, take it to the vast beach and it's yours. If you could let me know your sail number for the results before you go to the beach, I'd be grateful (otherwise sail past the Committee Boat so they can write your name against the sail number on their sheet). Also before you leave the Clubhouse, the café would appreciate if you pre-order your food - it will speed things up when you come in for lunch about 12:30 after 2 races. Another 3 races after lunch followed by prize giving at around 3:30pm. Don't worry if you can't do the whole day.
We'll have a briefing before both AM and PM sessions to make sure everyone is happy. Please feel free to ask myself or any of the team how it all works. We've all been there. There will also be help on the beach and on the water.
It's definitely a family event, so please feel free to come along and possibly bring the family and take out one of the larger club boats, or maybe take the opportunity to take out one of the new club boats.
I hope to see you on Saturday.
