Call for Volunteers to Run racing and Crew Safety Boats

Published 17:03 on 11 Jul 2020

As the government has now eased the lockdown to permit club racing* we are looking to cautiously restart our racing program. To facilitate this we need volunteer OODs and safety boat crews. To enable social distancing while running races we have reduced the OOD team to just two people and simplified the way races are run. There will be two safety boats single-crewed by a PRO and an RO, or a single safety boat if both crew are able and happy to observe social distancing. As this will be on a volunteer basis, we have removed everyone from the Duty Rota and made all the slots open. If you are will to help please go to the Duty Rota on the website and volunteer for an event or email Chris at sailing.secretary@oxfordsailing.club

*The racing will be limited to single handed boats or crewed boats where the crew are a family unit or "bubbled". The race team volunteers can be from the same household or if social distancing is observed from different households. By reducing the team to two people the races can be run while observing the distancing rules and we will circulate procedures to support this to the volunteers.
