Last Orders Gentlemen and Ladies Please!
The final episode of a binge worthy Netflix premiere series. I have had to wipe a tear from my cheek just to put pen to paper(finger to keyboard), to announce that this is the last Novice and Casual for the season. Saturday the 3rd of October will be the last set of races that form part of this magnificent and majestic series, hosted by the anointed one, our very own Mr Tony Bell.
Here is a quick reminder that next Saturday, 3rd October, is the last Novice and Casual event of the year.
After the great conditions and racing, plus the large attendance last month, hopefully everyone knows what to expect, but for anyone who missed it here is an outline of what happens. This free and fun event is open to everyone at the club, regardless of age or ability, with lots of prizes of wine and chocolate presented on the day. It would be great to see any new members joining in or anyone who wasn't able to attend last month.
If you are hoping to come along to N/C, the first race is at 11.00 after a briefing at 10.30. Id advise arriving at 9.30 to get a club boat. Please remember to book the boat out on the iPad in the hallway. We will have two 20-minute races and then back in for lunch. There will be a briefing at 1.30, before back on the water for 3-4 races, followed by prizegiving at 3.15ish!! If you are busy on Saturday free to pop in either morning or afternoon.
As I mentioned last month, if you don't feel comfortable with the racing you are very welcome to are very welcome to volunteer and have a pleasant day on the water on Lightning Sue or a safety boat. Please let me know beforehand as we only have a few places. Perhaps you could see what's involved and volunteer for race crew or safety duties in the future. After some of the start line shenanigans last month its definitely an entertaining place to be (We may mention start line rules and etiquette in the briefing).
