The end of Summer, farewell old friend.

I can hardly believe we are half way through our sailing calendar already. The time has arrived to gather garlands and celebrate our victorious winners of the Summer Series at Oxford Sailing Club.

Sailing from July through to September a total of sixteen hard fought races have been completed and John Lee rather generously allowed you all seven discards to come up with our series champions.

Starting with my favourite fleet,

General Handicap Fleet:

In first place with an unassailable lead is Tony Thresher; in second place Margaret Humphries and in a third place {keep an eye on this young man} the vary resilient Kilian Snelling.

ILCA Slow Fleet: 

First place goes to a very consistent Brian Snelling; second place to Mike Wood and a well respected third place to Peter Doran.

ILCA Fast Fleet:

Almost like a runaway train and sporting a new bump cap, in first place Chris Pinner; second place goes to the Class Captain Andrew Perrrott and our club-house 'poster boy' Steve Wood in third place.

Asymmetric Fleet:

You have to feel for Nigel, piped on the last race by Michelle Brooks who takes a resounding first place; Consolation maybe, but in second place Nigel Fawlk, followed in third place (quick when he is upright) Miles Roebuck.

Congratulations to all our winners across the different fleets and also to everyone else who participated in the racing. You have to be in-it to win-it, but best to stay upright while trying to do it.
