Afloat Again From 29th March

Dear Members

Only a few days to go until we are back on the water at OSC on 29 March. This will start with sailing/windsurfing under the 2-boat rule, informally to start and with no formal safety cover outside scheduled racing and activities, as earlier last summer. Summer activities are planned to start, socially distanced, with the new Farmoor Flyers windsurfing sessions on Monday 12 April (5:30 for 6pm). Sailing: Pirates & Pay & Play will launch on Tuesday 14 April (5:30 for 6pm).See the separate Pirates & Pay & Play news item. All coached sessions will be £10, members only and bookable in advance. Booking will open a week or two prior to each session watch the website.

Membership The current membership year will be extended by a month to 30th April. No further direct debit collections for existing members will now be taken until the new season 2021-22 starts on 1 May it will run for 11 months at 11/12 of the normal subscription, and a 5% discount for paid-up members renewing before 1 May. Together with the reductions and credits given for last year, this is the Club's material thank you for your support. We will also be rebating in full one Individual or Family membership drawn at random from renewals where payment has been made or arranged by direct debit instalments by 1 May. Renewals open on your OSC Sailing Club Manager account on 1 April. You need to be logged in - you can reset your password online using your registered email address.

Club Kit can be used from 29th March, with the important Covid condition that it is washed down before and after use. Here's the website link to the video we made last year: Covid Protocols Remember the 2-boat rule and the 20mph windspeed limit.

Events & Training There will be no organised events or class training during April. Some RYA class training weekends are booked for May-June.

Boat Park The Harbourmaster is busy attaching QR tags to trolleys to identify member boats. Some tags will be asking you to contact her or add some info to the tag. We are starting to tag boats that appear to be abandoned, for sale or disposal according to Club bylaws.
