New Sailing Instruction in the Club Racing SI's

An updated version of the club sailing instructions has been published on the website. It now includes a "latest start time" that applies when we sail back-to-back on Sunday mornings.

Some days it's obvious that there will be no sailing looking at conditions and the forecast; but we often have an improving forecast and the issue is when will conditions be good enough to sail. The intention is to bring clarity to how long we should wait for the wind to arrive (or settle) while we are racing back-to-back. The new SI.15. is:

SI.15. Latest Start Times. This S.I. only applies to Sunday racing with a scheduled start time of 11am where the races are "back-to-back". When weather conditions and the forecast mean racing is delayed, if the start sequence starts after 12.30pm then only one race will be sailed. The first race sequence cannot be started after 1.30pm. Racing may be abandoned earlier if there is no prospect of suitable conditions for sailing before the cut off times.
